Kirkland Art Center welcomes back bluegrass superstars

CLINTON — The award-winning bluegrass duo, The Gibson Brothers, will perform at Kirkland Art Center, 9 1/2 E. Park Row at 7:30 pm Saturday, October 23. They will be joined by Eric O’Hara on dobro.

Leigh and Eric Gibson have been described by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine as having it all: lead vocals, brother-duet harmony, instrumental virtuosity, ensemble sensibilities, and great original material.

The Gibson Brothers were voted Entertainers of the Year at the IBMA World of Bluegrass Annual Awards Show in 2012 and 2013.

They also won the Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year (“They Called It Music”), Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year (“Singing As We Rise”), and Eric Gibson was named the Songwriter of the Year.

The band was scheduled to perform at the art center in March 2020, but the show was cancelled due to the pandemic. “We are delighted to restart our indoor KAC Live program with this great band and know that bluegrass fans will be out in force to give them a warm welcome back to the KAC,” said David Fitzgerald, executive director.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Cost is $25 or $22.50 for KAC members. Tickets are available online at www.kacny.org and on the night at the door. To keep everyone safe, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required, and masks are recommended.

The Kirkland Art Center is a 60-year old multi-arts community organization on the village green in Clinton, NY.  The mission of the Kirkland Art Center is to educate children and adults, to advocate for artists and the arts, and to engage the community in a range of cultural experiences and opportunities.
