According to her manager, Gina Rodriguez, Brown recorded her vocals last month in Hollywood and worked with independent music producer/engineer Phil Valley, TMZ reports.
Her name and snippets from her video were later used by artists to create unauthorized remixes, prompting Brown to issue cease-and-desist orders.
Rapper Nicki Minaj also referenced Brown in her song “Fractions.” After learning of the song, Brown’s team contacted Minaj to see if the hip-hop star would be interested in collaborating with her on the single.
Despite the subsequent events since her viral incident, Brown is thrilled to be expanding her likeness by stepping into the rap game. “Ma Hair” will be available on streaming platforms on Friday.
