Utica expansion allows for daily round trip service to New York City for as low as $24.99
New York, NY. December 6, 2021 – FlixBus, America’s fastest-growing and most innovative intercity bus network, is coming to Utica. After debuting a new, round-trip Albany-New York City route in early November, the company has extended this line from Schenectady to Utica to provide daily round-trip service to residents of the Central New York city beginning on December 10, 2021. Utica residents, travelers and college students from Hamilton to Herkimer to Utica College can now turn to FlixBus for convenient, affordable, and environmentally-friendly transit options with prices far lower than competing bus and rail options.
“With the holiday season just around the corner, families are looking to reconnect safely and enjoy quality time with loved ones,” said Pierre Gourdain, Managing Director of FlixBus USA.
“This is a momentous change for Utica as until now you were stuck between expensive buses and even more expensive trains. The great city of Utica deserves better!”
“We are excited that FlixBus is expanding its services to Utica and welcome them into our community,” said Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri. “This expansion will provide more transportation options for our residents, as well as give non-residents opportunities to explore and access the great amenities Utica has to offer.”
An expansion of round-trip bus service to Albany and the surrounding area is reason enough to celebrate, but what makes FlixBus different is the company’s commitment to sustainability:
- FlixBus has collaborated with atmosfair to offer customers the option to travel climate friendly on their FlixBus journey. Customers can purchase “CO2 Compensation” tickets during booking, thereby making a voluntary environmental contribution.
- The cost of traveling green will be added to customers’ ticket prices, approximately 1-3% of the original ticket price.
- Every CO2 Compensation donation in the United States is invested in the National
Forest Foundation (NFF) to give passengers a tangible way to reduce their carbon footprints.
