Historic Old St. John’s Church, 240 Bleecker St., Utica, has scheduled two showings of “Convinced”, a movie which tells the stories of why successful, intelligent people give up their careers, alienate their friends and cause havoc in their families, to become Catholic. The stories center on men and women who were agnostic, of different religions, had no religion at all or who were fallen away Catholics, who subsequently converted and/or returned to Catholicism.

The movie will be shown on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. with a repeat showing on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Center, next to St. John’s Church, 240 Bleecker St, Utica. A discussion moderated by Sister Elizabeth Greim, D.C., St. John’s Pastoral Associate, and Deborah Buke, a member of St. John’s Education Committee which is sponsoring the event. Parishioners, friends and the public are invited. Refreshments will be served. .
