Clinton, NY—The Hamilton College Performing Arts Series presents the contemporary percussion ensemble Sō Percussion on Friday, February 28 at 7:30 pm in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts on the Hamilton College campus.

The program will include Steve Reich’s Music for Pieces of Wood, Viet Cuong’s Water Wine, Brandy, Brine, Susan Marshall’s Construction, Suzanne Farrin’s the diamond in the square, and Julia Wolfe’s Forbidden Love.

Sō Percussion has redefined the scope and role of the modern percussion ensemble, placing it at the leading edge of 21 st century music.  Sō’s repertoire ranges from 20th  century works by John Cage, and Steve Reich, to commissioning and advocating works by contemporary composers and creating modern collaborations with artists who work outside the classical concert hall.

Members of Sō Percussion are Eric Cha-Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski, and Jason Treuting.
