The Young Entrepreneurs Academy class at MVCC will hold its annual CEO Roundtable Event next week, where local CEOs and business owners share their stories, wisdom and secrets to their success with the students and the general public. The event is FREE.
Students in this year’s YEA class consist of twelve 7th-12th graders, ages 12-18, from six different school districts throughout the county (Utica, Clinton, New Hartford, Waterville, Vernon/Verona and Whitesboro.)
During the year-long class, students create a business, write a business plan, conduct marketing research, pitch to a panel of investors for real start up money, take part in a trade show to sell their goods and services and will graduate the class as real business owners. The class also offers field trips and special events such as this roundtable, hosts many expert speakers in class, welcomes mentors who work one-on-one with the student businesses for six weeks and hires graphic designers who create logos for each business.
The program partners for YEA are: M&T Bank/Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund, Berkshire Bank and First Source Federal Credit Union.
