(Utica, NY) – The Rescue Mission of Utica is hosting its 9th Annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes event on Saturday, February 1, 2020. What would you do if for some reason you suddenly lost everything? You’ve lost your savings and your treasured possessions are all gone. You have no one to turn to for help. You are homeless, hungry, alone and just hurt emotionally. Where would you go? What would you do?
Today… more than ever, people are dealing with these issues and thankfully they can turn to the services of the Rescue Mission of Utica. Please help raise awareness of homelessness and hunger while supporting a most worthy cause. For just one day, let’s walk a mile in their shoes…
Registration begins at 10:00am at the Westminster Moriah Olivet Presbyterian Church (across from Hanna Park). The walk begins outside City Hall at 11:00am. The registration fee for Individual Walkers, is $25,
Registration for Teams (Business/Church/School/Other) is $15 per person for groups of 10 or more. Registration includes “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” event tee-shirt and goodie bag, along with food and beverage.
Top fund raiser awards will be given to the two top teams. We encourage you to involve your family and friends by asking them to sign up to walk with you or make a contribution to your efforts through a pledge. To guarantee that you will have a correct t-shirt size, it is recommended that you pre-register by January 24, 2020.
