The Oneida County History Center Board of Trustees has established a search committee to recruit a new executive director, Board Chairman Andrew Weimer announced. Brian Howard, the current executive director, is leaving at the end of the year to take a similar position with the North Andover Historical Society in Massachusetts.

“Brian’s 12-year tenure has been full of highlights, growth, and significant building of relationships across Oneida County and beyond,” Weimer said. “He will be leaving the History Center in a wonderful position for success and further growth moving forward.”

Weimer called it a win-win opportunity, with Brian pursuing his career goals and the Board of Trustees looking to attract a new director to help take the History Center to the next level.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we offer Brian nothing but well wishes and great success in his new endeavor.”

A national search will be held in early 2020.  The position will be posted on the History Center homepage (www.oneidacountyhistory.org) and on other professional websites once available.
