The Kirkland Art Center in Clinton, NY has named Marilee Ensign as Executive Director,
following a search by the Board. Ensign brings over 15 years of experience in the non-profit
sector, including her previous work as executive director of Utica Symphony Orchestra and,
currently, as director of the Clinton ABC Program and manager for Clinton Symphony Orchestra MV. Her passion for the arts developed early in her career when she studied drama education and she has worked as an actor and director in numerous theater companies, including Players of Utica. “Marilee’s passion and energy for the arts, combined with her skills and experience, really impressed us. We are delighted that she will lead the KAC in fulfilling its mission to the community,” said Mark Landrey, KAC Board Treasurer.
With her appointment, Ensign will join Landrey and other KAC Board members in the ongoing search for a Development Director, a REDC-funded position focused on fundraising, membership, and programming.
In its 58th year, the Kirkland Art Center is a regional community arts center located on the village green in Clinton, NY. The mission of the KAC is to educate children and adults, to advocate for artists and the arts, and to engage the community in a range of cultural experiences and opportunities. In addition to ongoing classes and workshops, upcoming events at the KAC include Off The Wall! on May 4; the latest KAC Live! concert featuring Kat Wright with The Old Main opening, on May 10; the annual KAC Run & Walk and Festival On The Green on June 1; and KAC KIDS CAMPS in July and August.
