thINCubator is partnering with Real Useful Company to provide a 6- module hands-on intensive training (a ‘practicum’) to identify, grow, and foster creatives in the Mohawk Valley. Participants will receive world-class, boot-camp style training from industry experts from across the country and have the opportunity to work in a hands-on capacity to build a marketing plan for 4 actual business startups.
The workshop, called Story Engine, is a masterclass in branding and marketing that will provide the conceptual and hard skills for entrepreneurs and existing businesses to more effectively communicate their stories. Through six lectures, facilitated by industry experts from multiple disciplines from around the country (LA, Detroit, Boston, NYC, Utica), and six work sessions, Story Engine will train existing and aspiring creatives in industry-standard tools and techniques to make better work and provide insight for existing marketing managers and teams on how to make the most of their marketing dollars whether working with agencies or an in-house team.
Geared toward marketing, branding, and entertainment industry professionals at all levels, as well as entrepreneurs and creative seeking to translate their talents into the high-demand market, Story Engine is open to anyone with a story to tell and organizations looking to accelerate marketing.
Real Useful Company — a collective of thinkers & storytellers, dreamers & doers — has come to thINCubator (and Utica) to jump start its client portfolio in NY State. Our plan is to build new books of business powered by “creatives” of all forms from upstate communities.
MVCC’s thINCubator is a startup helping startups. They exist to help students and community members start and grow businesses right here in the Mohawk Valley, through state of the art facilities, mentorship, and tactical programming.
“We’re so excited to partner with Real Useful as we take on bringing a project of this scale to the Mohawk Valley,” says Ryan Miller of thINCubator. “We want to be part of bold, ambitious initiatives that have the power to transform the way our businesses and community tells stories – and this workshop series is part of that transformation. It’s an opportunity for creatives, freelancers, marketing professionals, and entrepreneurs to come together, learn from national experts and supercharge their creative abilities.”
