2018 marks the 30th anniversary of award ceremonies

UTICA, NY, May 18, 2018 —Outstanding Mohawk Valley women of the past, present, and future were recently honored by YWCA Mohawk Valley (YWCA MV) at the 2018 30th Annual Salute to Outstanding Women Awards celebration.UTICA, NY, May 18, 2018 —Outstanding Mohawk Valley women of the past, present, and future were recently honored by YWCA Mohawk Valley (YWCA MV) at the 2018 30th Annual Salute to Outstanding Women Awards celebration.

“Our mission is to empower women and we do that daily by providing women with the tools they need to heal, reclaim, and rebuild their lives,” said YWCA MV Chief Executive Officer Dianne Stancato. “Beyond our daily programs, we do this annually by honoring empowered women who are successful at what they do both professionally and personally.”Celebrating 30 years of saluting women, the evening’s event included recognizing past honorees both living and deceased, and past Y leaders. Women leaders of tomorrow were saluted with the introduction of a new category, Outstanding Youth. A second new category, Entrepreneur, recognizes the vision and hard work ethic of women business owners.

The YWCA MV’s largest annual fundraiser, held at Hart’s Hill Inn, in Whitesboro, on Thursday, May 17, brought in nearly $80,000 to be used for YWCA MV crisis services programs.

The nine women selected as this year’s honorees included: Beatrice Allison, of Holland Patent, for Healthcare, Delores Caruso, of Utica, for Unsung Heroine, Dah Eh, of Utica, for Outstanding Youth, Anny Guerrero, of Utica, for Education,Jordan Morgan, of Utica, for Professions/ Business & Industry, Pri Paw, of Utica, for Social Justice, Sarita Ruiz, of Rome, for Entrepreneur, Sandra Soroka, of Utica, for Human & Public Service, Christina Warner, of New Hartford, for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)   YWCA MV would like to thank this year’s Salute sponsors including presenting sponsor
