Utica Dollars for Scholars will hold a ceremony at 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, June 14, at First Presbyterian Church, 1605 Genesee St., in the Church Sanctuary.
This year, 129 scholarships totaling $225,010 are being awarded to students in area schools, most from Proctor High School and Notre Dame High School. With these awards, Utica Dollars for Scholars has awarded more than $1 million in scholarship and matching grant money to students since 1995.
After the ceremony, refreshments will be available in the Whittemore Room.
About Utica Dollars for Scholars
Utica Dollars for Scholars was established in November 1994. Since its founding UDFS has distributed more than $1 million to more than 1,700 students at Thomas R. Proctor High School, Notre Dame Junior/Senior High School, and many other high schools in Oneida and Herkimer counties. An all-volunteer community non-profit scholarship organization, Utica Dollars for Scholars partners with local businesses, The Community Foundation, families, service organizations, and individual donors to establish annual awards and special funds to recognize excellence and future potential in local students.
