ROME, NY…Students in grades 9 and 10 at Rome Free Academy have completed the requirements for the “Opportunities in STEAM” and will be graduating on Wednesday May 23rd at 4pm at Mohawk Valley Community College Plumley Complex, 1101 Floyd Ave, Rome.

This program, a collaborative effort between RFA, the Rome Rescue Mission, and Mohawk Valley Community College, exposes students to curriculum in science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.

Students received hands-on experience in an interactive learning environment in three separate tracks: drones, robotics and culinary as they developed skills in leadership and team building that will position them for higher education and future employment.

This is the second year of the program and was made possible by a grant from the United Way and the Sears Family Foundation.

The Rome Rescue Mission is a Christian ministry offering assistance to those needing shelter, food, and basic life necessities.
