New Hartford, N.Y. (November 13, 2017) — In remembrance of all children who have died, the Compassionate Friends of the Mohawk Valley will host a local candle lighting, as part of the Compassionate Friends worldwide candle lighting event.
The Compassionate Friends of the Mohawk Valley is an organization dedicated to providing a safe environment to actively help families work toward the positive resolution of their grief following the death of a child.
“This is an inspirational way to not only remember a child who has died, but also to receive emotional support during the holiday season from those who have also lost a child, said Dave Roberts, chapter leader.
The event will take place on Sunday, Dec 10, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of New Hartford, 105 Genesee St, New Hartford, New York. There will be readings and live music during the ceremony. Cookies and refreshments will be served afterwards. The event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP via e-mail by 12/7/17 to firstname.lastname@example.org and include a JPEG picture of your child for the ceremony, along with his/her name, date of birth and date of death.
Sign in will take place on the evening of the event from 6 to 6:45 p.m. For further information or questions, please call 315-736-8684.
