This special event is the history center’s largest annual fundraiser and will be broadcast on WUTR-TV on Wednesday, April 12 from 6:30-8:00 pm. The telethon will be held at the history center, located at 1608 Genesee Street in Utica, and will be hosted by Oneida County Tourism Executive Director Kelly Blazosky and longtime emcee Joe Kelly.

The Oneida County History Center telethon is an annual fundraising event to benefit the history center’s ongoing operations and public service efforts. Telethon funding is used in part to build new exhibits, underwrite special programming, and support operation of the center’s library for historical and genealogical research.

Several special prize drawings will be held during the broadcast. Viewers who join or renew their memberships during the telethon, and non-members who make a pledge, will be eligible to win 2 tickets to the Adirondack Scenic Railroad Wine and Beer Train, Stewart’s Shop gift certificates, a Delmonico’s Steak House gift certificate, an Oneida County Tourism Gift Basket, or an Oneida County History Center gift package.  The phone number to call in, a membership renewal or pledge is 315-735-3642.

The history center staff, volunteers, and board of trustees would like to thank the following organizations, businesses, and individuals who have already pledged their support for the 2017 telethon.  Several private sponsors will be recognized during the broadcast as part of the ‘Historical Star’ board.
